General
Hong Kong, China are making their fourth appearance in the Asian Games women's volleyball tournament at Hangzhou 2022. They finished last out of six teams on their first appearance in 1978 in Bangkok, and did not appear again until the 2014 Games in Incheon, where they came seventh.

At the 2018 Games in Indonesia, the team lost all four of their Pool A matches against hosts Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Japan, before defeat to India in the classification round saw them end the tournament ranked last out of 11 teams.
