Team Overview
General
Chinese Taipei have finished on the podium at every Asian Games softball tournament but are yet to win gold. The team went close in 2006, 2014, and 2018, losing to Japan in the final on all three occasions, and in 2002 they shared the silver medal with the People's Republic of China after the final day of competition was washed out.
The team are also yet to claim the title at the Asian championship, although they have won a medal at each edition of the tournament in the 21st century. They were silver medallists in 2004, 2007, and 2011, and secured bronze in 2017, 2019, and 2023. In 2023 in Incheon, they won the bronze medal game 10-5 against the Philippines.
Chinese Taipei have three medals at the world championship, winning silver in 1982 and bronze in 2002 and 2022. At the 2022 edition of the tournament [which was held at the World Games], the team lost 7-0 to Japan in the semifinals and defeated Australia 6-0 in the bronze medal game. They also made three appearances at the Olympic Games between 1996 and 2008, with a highest ranking of fifth at Beijing 2008. The team did not compete at the 2020 Games in Tokyo.
