Team Overview
General
The Republic of Korea are competing in the women's water polo tournament at the Asian Games for the first time at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou.
The Korean team ranked sixth out of six teams at the 2022 Asian Championships in Samut Prakan, Thailand. They suffered defeat in all five of their matches in the preliminary round, and then lost the fifth place play-off to Singapore. As hosts of the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju, the Koreans finished bottom of the rankings in 16th place. Defeat in their three pool matches was followed by losses to South Africa and Cuba in the classification rounds.
