He was born in Oman to an Omani father and a Japanese mother. In 2018 he relocated to Japan after he received a scholarship to study at Chukyo University in Nagoya in preparation for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. After graduating in March 2022, he planned to remain in Japan to continue his education and training ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
