He was born in the United States of America and competed at the US Olympic Trails in 2020. He obtained a Hong Kong passport through his father. He decided to represent Hong Kong, China in 2021. He was originally not considered for the 19th asian games in Hangzhou, People's Republic before the postponement because he didn't fulfil the requirement of residing in Hong Kong, China for one year.
