He was inspired to try the sport by his father. "When I was younger, I spent more time on the field than I did at home. I played every sport - cricket, football, badminton, basketball, hockey and was good at them all, but nothing excited me. But that's till I discovered sailing. I watched my father sail and eventually followed his footsteps to pick up the ore and manoeuvre the mast.
