General
SERVING IN THE NAVY
He left the Indonesian rowing team after competing at the 2018 Asian Games in order to join the Indonesian Navy [TNI AL]. He rejoined the national team in late 2019 after completing his basic training. "In August 2019 I graduated and the following month began serving at an office of the Marine Corps in Jakarta. I remember during basic training, I missed that call to join the national team, and now [speaking in 2019] I had to get permission when I eventually got the call. It's good to be back. When I look forward, I won't always be an athlete, but I can always contribute by serving the country through the navy." (sport, 12 Nov 2019; malukupost, 27 Aug 2018)
