His twin brother Sayed Salman Almosawi has represented Kuwait in karate, and competed in men's team kata at the 2021 World Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He also won bronze in men's team kata at the Asian championships in 2018, 2019 and 2021, and bronze in individual kata at the 2018 Asian championships in Amman, Jordan. His father Sayed Abdullah is also a World Karate Federation judge and an Asian Karate Federation referee.
