General
The Islamic Republic of Iran have won a medal at each edition of the Asian Games to feature women's kabaddi. They started with bronze at the 2010 Games in Guangzhou, claimed silver four years later in Incheon, and secured their first title at Indonesia 2018.
At the 2018 Games, the Iranian team topped their group with two wins and one loss to qualify for the semifinals. They defeated Thailand 23-16 in the last four to set up a gold medal match against two-time defending champions India. Having been eliminated in the semifinals by India in 2010, and then losing the final to them in 2014, the Islamic Republic of Iran finally overcame their rivals 27-24 to win gold.
