She took up golf at age four, and began competing at around age seven. (businesstoday, 02 Dec 2022; golfdigest, 29 Mar 2022; essentiallysports, 02 Apr 2022)

She asked her father and grandfather to take her to a golf course. "We were living in Gurgaon [India] at the time and my dad wanted to take my grandpa to learn about the sport. My dad and my grandpa went around the course, then three, four hours later, I was still on the range, hitting balls. And this convinced both of them that I was born to play the sport." She trains at Karnataka Golf Association [KGA] in Bengaluru, India. "I wake up around 06:30 and I go for practice at KGA from 07:00 to maybe 11:30. I'll go practise for two and a half hours and then go on the course and do everything and then come back home at 15:00. Then, I go to the gym at 18:00. So 18:00 to 19:30 is when I work out." Her performance at the 2022 Augusta National Women's Amateur in the United States of America. "I finished 21st. This may not look so good, but I was playing against the world's best amateurs. Many with a higher rank didn't even make the top 30 cut on the second day. It showed us that it was possible to compete with the best." (timesofindia, 29 Dec 2022)

General
BECOMING A PRO
In June 2023 she announced her decision to turn professional. "I wanted to compete at the Olympics since I was pretty young. Now that I am on the [2022] Asian Games team, the Olympics looks a lot more realistic, and I see the only way to get there is for me to turn pro and get the world rankings up. I should be able to make it if I just play the way I am playing now." (news9live, 14 Jun 2023)

BENEFITS OF LOCKDOWN
In 2020 she used the break from competition as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic to build up her strength and develop her driving game. "From 2020 to 2022, I've gained about 35 to 40 yards of distance [on her drive], so even the lockdown did have very good parts. I definitely say that I picked up a lot of swing speed then, because my dad keeps all the stats - it's always pushed me to work harder, because then I compare myself against the best in the world. It was kind of my goal to come out of lockdown as a completely changed and a transformed player." (abbeyfealegolfclub, 30 Apr 2022; essentiallysports, 02 Apr 2022)
