Team Overview
General
Mizoe and Ishii first teamed up during the 2019 season, but both athletes have previous experience of competing at the Asian Games.
Ishii claimed the silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia. Competing with Megumi Murakami, the duo won the opening set in the gold medal match five years ago, but eventually lost in three sets to Chinese pair Wang Fan and Xia Xinyi.
Mizoe is also making her second appearance at the Asian Games, having first competed at the 2010 edition in Guangzhou. She and partner Shinako Tanaka were eliminated at the quarterfinals.
