Team Overview
General
Kazakhstan competed at the Asian Games for the first time in 1994 in Hiroshima, where they finished fifth in a round-robin style tournament. They matched that result on their second Asian Games appearance in 1998, but they did not compete at the next three editions of the tournament. Returning to the Games at Incheon 2014, they qualified for the quarterfinals where they were beaten 71-57 by the People's Republic of China. They also exited the competition at the quarterfinal stage in 2018 in Indonesia following a 104-57 defeat to Japan.
Kazakhstan have been regular participants at the Asia Cup [previously known as the Asia championship] since 1994, bouncing between the A Division and B Division of the tournament.
