Bangkok, Thailand, May 16, 2016: Organisers of the Olympic Council of Asia’s 5th Asian Beach Games in Vietnam this September have assured the OCA Sports Committee that all the competition venues and infrastructure will be ready one month before the opening ceremony.

Addressing the Sports Committee meeting in Bangkok on Monday, Mr Manh Van Tran gave a detailed presentation on all aspects of the ABG, which will run from September 24 to October 3 in the central coastal city of Danang.

There will be 14 sports, 22 disciplines and 172 events, with around 5,000 athletes and officials expected to take part. The four venue clusters are dotted along the bay, covering a distance of 7km and linked by a fleet of shuttle buses.

Mr Manh, the Vietnam Olympic Committee Secretary General, explained that the organising committee DABGOC will work in Hanoi until May 31, and then move to Danang from June 1 in time for the Chefs de Mission Seminar on June 1-2.
